Turkey-Bean Chili Recipe

Leading a healthy lifestyle isn't an easy or quick process. Making changes in your diet can be difficult too, so we've provided a low carb yet delicious recipe to help you along your fitness journey.

3 lb. lean ground turkey (93% - lean)
1 large green pepper
1 large onion
1 can kidney beans
1 can black beans
1 jar salsa (mild, spicy, or medium depending on your taste)
1 jar marinara sauce--any brand, plain or herb
3 tbsp. chili powder
2 tbsp. black pepper
water (amount noted below)
1 can diced tomatoes
Makes 10 1½ Servings Calories - 235 Carbohydrates - 21.9 g Protein - 23.4 g Fat - 6.4 g Fiber - 3.8 g
Begin by browning ground turkey and drain. Dice the green pepper and onion. In a large stew pot, combine turkey, salsa, marinara sauce, tomatoes, kidney and black beans (both drained), diced green pepper and onion, chili powder, and pepper. Refill the marinara sauce jar with water and add that to the pot. Stir well. Simmer for three hours, stirring occasionally. This chili is a complete meal when served with pasta or brown rice.
